Hey and welcome back! I hope you all have been having a wonderful week so far. The hubby left Sunday for another work trip to Minneapolis and will be getting home tomorrow night. This should hopefully be his last trip for the year, fingers crossed! If you read my last post I mentioned that we haven’t had any professional pictures taken since my daughter was a newborn. You all will happy to know that I booked us with a local photographer this Sunday for a Christmas Family Photo Shoot!! My only concern is that I got the last available slot which is right in the middle of baby girl’s nap time…… It will be ok, it will be ok, it will ok….you think if I repeat this enough it will be true?
In case you have been running around like a mad person and have no idea what day it is, we only have TWO WEEKS until Thanksgiving! What!!!??? In case this is news to you, don’t fret. I have some really great posts for you to help you get through the feasting day.
We all want to look our cutest during the Holidays. Let’s be honest though, some how we all seem to eat waaaaayyyy more that we should have. Who wants to sit around stuffed wearing something uncomfortable? I have put together a guide on how to dress comfortable but cute this Thanksgiving Day.
The first step to being comfortable but cute is to wear your favorite jeans. There is something “magical” that happens to us on the inside when we slip on those beloved jeans and say “hello there old friend”. It doesn’t matter if your favorite jeans are boyfriend cut, skinny, embroidered, or flared they will get you through the day. I love a great boyfriend jean, but lately my favorite pair has been these black jeggings from Torrid. These jeans have great stretch to them but won’t leave you with a saggy bum at the end of the end. They are available in Regular, Tall, Short, ExTall and ExShort length. BONUS, they are also 25% right now so hurry!
There is nothing more uncomfortable than wearing a shirt that is too snug, pulls in weird places or is too low cut for your liking (on top of eating all day long). Instead of pulling that shirt down all day or feeling like your going to rip it down the side after that third helping of mashed potatoes, opt for one of your comfy tops. It doesn’t matter if it’s on over sized sweat shirt or your favorite tunic blouse. This sweater from Forever 21 is perfect for me to be comfortable but cute. It’s a looser fitting sweater and makes you want to curl up with a fuzzy blanket and binge your fave show. I love the lace up detail on the front. I am not too comfortable showing off a lot of cleavage. This sweater will show just enough but not too much to get looks from grandma!
Shoes And Accesories
To top off your comfortable but cute Thanksgiving Day look, reach for the flats. I love these boots from DSW I got last spring. The heel is perfect for wearing all day. You don’t want to have to worry about your feet hurting when you have four different Thanksgiving dinners to fit in one day. These exact ones are no longer available but I did find a couple similar pairs for you here, here and here. I may actually need to get those Maylon Chelsea Boots…….
Layers are going to be friend for sure. You can’t achieve the comfortable but cute look if you are sweating to death! Since you never know how warm your host’s house will be, go in with layers. There are so many options for you in this category. You can go with a scarf like I have for this look. Or, you can pair a lighter weight sweater or tee with a chunky cardigan. Also, if you don’t feel like lugging a big coat around with you, try a poncho. You can belt it over your top or just wear it in place of a coat. I love this blanket scarf from Francesca’s as it can go with numerous tops. If you want to go with a poncho, I really love this one from Fashion To Figure, and it has a built in belt!
I hope have helped you put together a great comfortable but cute look for your feastgiving plans! What are you planning on wearing?
