Good evening! I first want to apologize for getting this post a day late to you. There were some computer issues last night and by the time I got everything resolved I was exhausted!! Hopefully you all had a wonderful weekend and a great start to your week. My husband is able to move his work schedule around so he can stay home with our daughter on Fridays, so they spent a couple hours at our local zoo. I was sad I wasn’t able to go with them, but there will be more zoo trips in our future.
For this week’s Pick Of The Week post I wanted to talk about body suits. Yes, bodysuits are back ladies!!! I vaguely remember these when I was little back in the late 80’s and early 90’s and honestly, I don’t know why they ever went out of style. Bodysuits aren’t just for the straight sized ladies either! Plus size woman have an opportunity to join in on the fun and slay girl! There are currently three bodysuits in my closet and I am always looking for more that catch my eye. One of these is a long sleeve, sheer black body suit with an animal print that I got to wear for a Valentines’ Day look. I will definitely be rocking that one again this winter!
Why I Love
Aside from feeling like a newborn in a onsie, I love how clean of a look a bodysuit gives you. If you are trying to achieve that chic tucked in look, you definitely want to go with a bodysuit. While it may be some what of a pain to use the restroom you aren’t having to readjust your top through out the day, making sure it’s straight and not too baggy. Since the bodysuits are all one piece, you also don’t get much of a line under your skirt or pants where the hem is. I am in love with one from Eloquii. The satin is so elegant and the deep dusty rose color is gorgeous.
Normally I wouldn’t pair a bodysuit with these high waisted skinnies. Showing off my lower abdominal is really pushing the envelope for me, especially after having my daughter a year and a half ago. I have always carried a lot of my weight in my stomach, I just don’t remember my lower tummy sticking out THAT much. Either way I am trying to love this body more and more every day for what it has given me.
This look would be something I can see myself in the future going out in public on a date night the hubs. For work I would pair this body suit with some nice dress pants, I think white would be extremely chic with the color and finish on this body suit. Or a black and white striped a-line skirt would pair great with this for a wedding. I paired this statement necklace from Rocksbox to add a little more glam to the look.
Sharing this look with you all is testing my confidence. I want you all to know that your size should define your options. If you aren’t ready to try a body suite with skinny jeans, then don’t. Pair it with a flowy skirt instead.
Let me know what you think of this look or if you have any body suites of your own.
