One thing I need to work more on is adding pieces to my wardrobe that I can style for different seasons. Forcing myself to get out of comfort zone and use my creativity to make numerous looks using one base piece. When I saw this animal printed dress from Fetch&Co I knew it was something I had to work into colder weather situations. Animal print is trending again big time for fall and I have to have it all in my closet.
Plus Size Boutiques
A lot of times, being plus size means either having to forgo the trendy styles that I love, or shell out a lot of money that I don’t have. Designers know there isn’t a lot of plus fashion out there, so why not make some bank off of it. That’s why I love this local boutique. They offer sizes from small to 3x and are all about the latest trends. The idea small, local boutiques are unheard of on the plus-size world. 90% of the time we are forced to shop online. Now don’t get me wrong. In the age of free shipping, I’ll shop online but mostly because I have to. I love spending time at a mall going through the stores. However, when the number plus size stores are so few and far between it just becomes a big mood killer.
Like I mentioned previously, animal print is hitting hard again for the fall season. I am here for it! Challenging myself to come up with new ways to wear this dress is definitely getting my creative juices flowing. One of the things I love about this dress is the classic color combo of the animal. If you haven’t noticed animal print is getting wilder with different color combos. Some of the combos are cute, IMO, but there is something about the classic look that just pulls me in.
Adding A Simple Tee For A Change
The easiest way to work a summer dress into fall is with a simple t-shirt. You can go as classic or crazy as you like. Here I went with a solid white tee under the dress. This is also a great way to wear a dress with a traditional bra instead of having to go with a strapless. Any neutral colored t-shirt will work with this particular. Or, I could go bold and pair a bright orange and hot pink shirt under the dress.
For the second look, I layered a graphic tee over the dress. This is a great way to make as big or little of a statement as you want. I figured if I’m going to make a statement, I wanted to do something scary for me. So I grabbed this tee that I picked up from TheCurvyCon last year and tied it in a knot. I haven’t worn this a lot since I got so I figured now was the time.
Which tee is more your style? Are you going for the bold graphic or the neutral statement?
