Hey lovelies! I hope you have all had a wonderful week. I want to welcome you to my third and final installment of the Becoming Fearless May Challenge. If you didn’t catch my first two posts, you can go back to post one and post two.
Motivation: What do you do to stay motivated and fulfilled?
If you haven’t guessed by now, my daughter is my biggest motivation. I want her to see she has a mother who not only loves her, but loves herself as well. Becoming her role model or hero would be a huge dream come true for me. Every day that she breathes gives me the motivation to keep striving for my dreams and goals. If she can see me working hard for something I want, she will work hard for what she wants.
Your Team: Tell us about the people that you spend the most time with.
My husband has been my biggest fan since I started this endeavor in January. He has put up a lot with me. I have turned him in to my cheerleader, my photographer and my editor! Almost every day I get to hear how proud he is of me. I would like to think that if my daughter could speak, she would tell me as well that she is proud of me. In a way I have also become my own team member. Making myself proud of the things I am doing and want to accomplish is another way to push myself to keep going.
(that’s me in the yellow, and I was worried about my weight then…)
Staying Grounded: How do you stay grounded and true to your values in all facets of your life?
Growing up being told that I was fat and needed to lose weight by people close to me made me severely humble, almost in a negative way of sorts. It is very hard for me to take a compliment. I am always thinking they are saying it to try to make me feel better when they don’t mean it. Because of this I have this preconceived notion that nothing big would ever become of me blogging. That this will always just be something for me to play around with. If that is my path, then OK. However, that doesn’t mean I am going to stop. You know the saying “Shoot for the moon and you’ll land among the stars”? Well even if I do land among the stars, this girl isn’t going to stop shooting for the moon.
(when I won the trip of a life time and got to go to NYC to meet the amazing woman of DIA&Co who got me started on this journey)
Inspiring Others to Lead: What would you tell someone to inspire them to succeed?
The first thing that came to my mind was the Journey song “Don’t Stop Believing”. Don’t ever for one second stop believing in yourself. Is it always going to be sunshine and roses? Absolutely not! Just because something doesn’t come easy or right away doesn’t mean it isn’t worth fighting for. I truly believe that if there is something you are dreaming about and are working and striving for, it will come to you. It just may not come the traditional way. Also, if anyone tries to tell you that your dream is unreachable or unrealistic, don’t listen. They may just be upset or jealous of the fact that you are working for something and it is or will pay off and they gave up on their dreams. Their dream is not your dream and it doesn’t make yours less valid.
We have come to the end of this challenge and I want to thank you for hanging on this journey with me. I hope I have been able to open up a little more and you show the things that have made me the person I am, and the person I want to be. Please feel free to share any thoughts or questions you have for me!
