Makeup Collab with Bakersfieldbeauty

I have been wanting to do a collaboration since starting my blog. I had no idea how it would work or what I would do. Then one day on Instagram I met Kelsey, founder of  bakersfieldbeautyblogger.com and fell in love with her and the talent she has for makeup. I approached her about doing a makeup collaboration and she immediately said yes! Wow, that wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be!! I told her I was thinking of finding a makeup look and replicating it. It had to be something bold so I could step outside my comfort zone of neutral pinks and browns. So Kelsey went searching and came back with some pretty wild options. We decided on a look created by lady0lson. Let me tell, I was SCUUURED! I call it the Two-Face look. To be honest, I am pretty impressed with myself!

Eye Shadow

I used two different pallets for the eye shadow. I started with NYX Ultimate Palette in Brights. These are some very bright colors and I was worried I may come out looking like Mimi from The Drew Carrey Show. There are no color names on this palette, but I went with the darker of the two pinks, lighter of the two oranges and the darker purple for the base of both eyes.

I knew I had to have some high pigmented glitter for my main color on the eyes. For this I went with Urban Decay’s Moondust Pallet. I decided to go with the green, lightyear, on one eye and the purple, magnetic on other. If you decide to use any high pigmented glitter eye shadow, I do recommend  that you either do your foundation, concealer, etc after your eyes, or place a piece of toilet/tissue paper under your eye to catch all the falling color.

My new favorite black eye lines is one that I actually just received in my latest Ipsy glambag. It’s from EM Cosmetics and has an amazing felt tip that, I promise you, will not dry out. Since I was going big with the eye color, I needed to go big with my eyeliner. So I attempted, for the one-millionth time, to try a big winged eye. It wasn’t a complete fail, I don’t believe.

Since you can never have enough glitter, I added a little of NYX’s Liquid Crystal Body Liner in gold across the top of the black eyeliner, and on my under eye. This liner has a nice thin tip that is great for those little details! I added some quick mascara and VOILA!

Lips

Now that the hard part was over, I can move on to the lips. Deciding what colors I wanted was easy! I used Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid matte lipstick in Rio on one half. The other was dedicated for Smashbox Liquid Metal lipstick in Foiled Brat.

I had so much fun stepping out my comfort on this and can not thank Kelsey enough for choosing this look! You an also see the original look by Deya Olson on her Instagram.
