Today beauties I want to showcase my Ipsy January Glambag. If you have never heard of Ipsy, it is a monthly bag filled with five different beauty samples. Ipsy is the same idea as Glossybox. The things I like more about Ipsy is that you get a cute little makeup bag, or glam bag, to store you products in. Once you fill out the little survey, the company will send you the five items. After you use them you can review the items to get points. Then you can spend the points on extra items for your next glambag. Ipsy is also half the price of Glossybox at $10. Some of you may think “Well I don’t need all those bags. What am I going to do with them?” I thought the same thing. A co-worker was actually the one who gave me the idea to use them as gifts at Christmas time. Keep one or two of your favorites then give the rest as gifts. You could add a lip gloss or nail polish to the bag and be done.
The theme for the month was Metropolis. To me, the bag has more of a futuristic vibe than city. In my opinion it isn’t as cute as my other two bags, but I am still using it. In December I tried holding off looking online to see what items I was getting. I failed! This month I was able to be surprised, not sure I can say the same thing for February. Now the fun part!
My first item was Pretty Woman nail polish. There were two colors up for grabs this month; I Can’t Deal which is grey nude shade and Pretty In Pink, a pale pink shade. The shade I received was Pretty In Pink. You get the full size .3 fl oz bottle that retails for $7.99. This brand is vegan, 5-fee, not tested on animals and made in the USA! I really liked the color. It is something I don’t currently have so that was a plus. I did find that polish would run thin in some spots as I was applying it.
The second item is a sample bottle from Note Fragrances In Pink Peony. A 1 fl oz bottle retails for $42. The break down of this fragrance goes; top notes: bergamot, tangerine; middle notes: jasmine sambac, linden flower, peach blossoms; bottom notes: sheer musk, blonde amber, white woods. I’m not sure if I like this, but I don’t think I hate it. A plus for me is that the bottle has a spritzer in it. This way I don’t have dab the fragrance all over me.
I was able to score another lip gloss sample in this months glambag. Here we have Trust Fund Beauty‘s gloss in Blame Game. The full size .27 fl oz tube retails for $18. Both this shade and the other shade offered to Ipsters are currently sold out from the sites website. The color is described as “pinky toned brown shade”. On me this color brings out my natural lip color.
The fourth item in my glambag is ModelCo‘s blush in Peach Billini. This color not only worked for my skin tone, but it works well with all skin tones. The full size 8g container retails for $22. The site describes their blush cheek powders as a “micronized colour pigments and luxurious, pressed powder delivers a sheer, natural radiance”.
My final glambag item is Manna Kadar Cosmetics Fantasy 3-in-1 Eyeshadow. This one item can be used as a blush, highlighter and eye shadow. It only comes in this one shade, champagne blush, but works for all skin tones. The full size container retails for $19. I have tried this as both a blush and an eye shadow and I like it more as a blush.
That concludes my January glambag. I would love to know if you are an Ipster, and what your favorite bag or product has been so far!
